Moving on

As I run this race I feel like I have started so far behind

Yet I must start from where I am

Where I find myself now

There is no where else I can start from

Although I may wish I was further ahead already

Desperate to make up for lost time

I can only get there one step at a time

Let me have enough light to see

Where the next step is

And give me the courage to take it

Enough grace for today

The peace of heart and mind

To rest awhile

For to grow weary is not to fail

But let not fear paralyze me

Let me keep moving on

Oh that I may hear your voice and heed your guidance

Let me walk with you Jesus

Let me also rest with you

And let me know that you are with me always

You walk with me

You know where I’m at

You help me carry my burdens

You stay with me

You do not leave me behind

And when I am tired

You give me rest

Am I free to enjoy the journey?
